Wisconsin - Michigan Player of the Game:UW Badger Basketball

After careful consideration we have decided that we are now going to start awarding a player of the game for each and every game. Basketball is a team game and the Badgers in particular play team basketball, however we feel this feature will allow us to get to talk a little bit more about the specifics of certain players and how they are contributing to the team in an organized fashion.

Wisconsin-Michigan Player of the Game: That said the player of the game for the big road win against Michigan is senior guard Jason Bohannon who had 18 points and 5 assists, 4 rebounds, one turnover and solid defense.  It has been so much fun to watch Jason Bohannon develop his offensive game to the point where he can now score in a number of ways besides just three point shooting. Before this season people dogged Bohannon that he need screen sets just to get off his three point shots but he has given the team a huge boost this year by being able to create his own shot off the dribble. In the Michigan game Jason did shoot 4 of 7 from beyond the arc but he also was able to create easier shots for himself by driving to the hoop and hitting runners or hitting pull up jumpers. In addition he had some great passes in the game but the best was the drive and skip pass to Wilson late in the game. Bohannon has also done a better job as the season has gone along at closing out on the three point shooter on defense.

Runner Up: Trevon Hughes had a nice bounce back game after a rather poor performances the last couple of games. Hughes missed only 2 shots from the field and distributed the ball extremely well, he did however have another tough game from the line going 3 of 7. Hughes finished the game with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a turnover

Tough Game:  Ryan Evans had a very up and down game as he made some fantastic plays on defense but also made some poor fouls and bad shooting decisions when he took his high level of aggressiveness to extreme aggressiveness. Evans is a redshirt freshman and is clearly still learning to play on the road as he plays significantly more even keeled at the Kohl Center. Bo Ryan does recognize though that Evans brings something to this team when he is on the floor which is why he played 16 minutes.
