Bret Bielema Twitter User and Twitter Spy

Bret Bielema uses Twitter, we know this because he has a Twitter account which he posts to, 1,799 of you follow it apparently. This isn't surprising as I am sure every major college football program in the country has a Twitter account by now as a way of showing it relates to young players, just like texting and having an Ipod in the office. The news is that on Monday Bret Bielema admitted that he or likely his staff spies on opponents players through Twitter to see if they say what they are going to do or anything else he can use to his advantage. First I really hope that it is the Badger CIA staff "graduate assistants" that is doing this research and coach is focused on the game plan, because the Badgers need all the game plan help they can get. You can also bet if he is having Twitter followed Brett is having people befriend players on Facebook and whatever as well.

I can't say I am surprised the Badgers do this, first Bret is a younger generation coach, you can't say he isn't competitive, and he is creative at times like the kickoff situation a few years back, finally this is done all the time in business and the Badgers are big business. The bigger question is why did he let us all in on the secret, my guess is he wants his players to stop using Twitter, and other players at other schools to stop because with the budget cuts he just doesn't have the money to keep the Badger CIA in operation. Maybe the computer science program was pulled off of the top secret project of creating a program to analyze and collect Bret's Twitter info.
