Jared Berggren has yet to leave the bench two games into the UW Badgers basketball teams season. With every game that Berggren does not leave the bench it appears more likely that the he will join fellow freshman Ryan Evans in redshirting. The first game against Long Beach State and even the starters probably needed the minutes to adjust to the regular season, however there were minutes to be had against SIU Edwardsville and he did not play. UW Badgers freshman guard Jordan Taylor and forward Rob Wilson have both played around fifteen minutes in the first two game and look like they could make a strong contribution on the court this year. In addition Ian Markolf got off the bench for one minute against Edwardsville and scored two points. While Badgers fans might not be surprised that Markolf is not redshirting, Berggren was considered to be the Badgers top recruit and as a big man has had every opportunity to win playing time this year. What could redshirting two players mean for the Badgers Basketball program?
